Frank Borowicz Q.C. has over 35 years experience in conflict resolution, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. He is a prominent arbitrator, mediator, and governance advisor to public and private corporations, and is a retired partner of the international law firm Davis LLP (DLA Piper). Mr. Borowicz is a Governor of the Vancouver Board of Trade, having served as Chairman and Chief Elected Officer, and is an independent director of several public and private companies, including Hemisphere Energy (TSXV:HME), Exro Technologies (CSE:XRO), and the Canada-China Child Health Foundation. He has also served as Chairman of the BC Industry Training Authority, as an Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka, and as a Director of the BC International Commercial Arbitration Centre.
With multiple certifications in arbitration and mediation, Mr. Borowicz is a charter member of the Arbitrators Association of BC, a founder of Bizcourt and the Conflict Managers Group, President of Pigasus Consulting Services, and is designated in the Forest Act Register of Mediators and Arbitrators. Mr. Borowicz has also been a mediation advisor and trainer to many organizations including the Provincial Court of British Columbia, Ontario Court of Justice, Canadian Association of Provincial Court Judges, Singapore Mediation Center, Hong Kong Attorney General’s Chambers, World Bank, US National Institutes of Health, Canadian Council of Association Executives, BC Treaty Commission, Freedom of Information and Privacy Commission, Labour Relations Board, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, BC Principals’ & Vice-Principals’ Association, College of Dental Surgeons, Registered Nurses Association, Institute of Chartered Accountants, and Thompson Rivers University Law School.
Mr. Borowicz has served as a member of the Law Society’s Justice Reform Task Force and Public Relations Committees, and Chair of the Administrative Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch. He has also been adjunct professor of forestry law at the University of British Columbia, an instructor in the Professional Legal Training Course, and course coordinator and panelist for the Continuing Legal Education Society. Mr. Borowicz is a recipient of the Concordia University Alumnus of the Year Award, and numerous awards for extraordinary client service.
Mr. Borowicz was also formerly a law professor at the University of Windsor, and was a founding faculty member of the University of Victoria Law School. Mr. Borowicz is a also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and holds a certificate in Financial Literacy from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
